8. What can a student do if he/she doesn’t see all the classes in Blackboard?

After you login to the Blackboard Learning System, all classes for which a student registered are display in the My Courses module. However, there are two possible reasons students may not see their classes listed after they login. One of the reasons is that the instructor forgot to make the Blackboard course Web site available to the students. Please contact the instructor and ask him/her to make the Blackboard course Web site available.

Another reason for students not seeing their classes listed is that it takes 24 hours to update a new class registration in the Blackboard Learning System. Students have to wait 48 hours after they registered for a class. After 48 hours, if students do not see all their classes listed they can contact the instructor and ask him/her to enroll them in the corresponding Blackboard course Web site.

9. Why are students getting an error message access denied?

The error message access denied is displayed when an instructor has not made the course Web site available to the students. Please contact your instructor and find out when the course Web site will become available.

11. How do I remove a link for a class that I dropped and I am no longer taking?

After the semester ends, instructors will make the Blackboard course Web site unavailable to the students. If a student can still see a Blackboard course Web site from a previous semester, the student needs to contact the instructor and ask him/her to make it unavailable.

Students should keep in mind that if another student from the same class has an incomplete grade, the instructor may be required to keep the Blackboard course Web site available to the entire class for as long as the instructor feels it is necessary.

Note: Students may also hide the link for the Blackboard course Web site by editing the My Courses module and removing the checkmark for the class.

  1. Click the edit My Courses module button (pencil icon) located on the upper right corner (see picture below) of the My Fullerton page.
  2. Remove the checkmark in the Display Course Name column for each class that you do not want to display.
  3. Click the Submit button.

click pencil icon in the My Courses module
